A 23-year-old woman was killed in a one-car accident early Thursday morning on Providence Street, the Woonsocket police said. The police responded to the scene at about 2:22 a.m., a spokesperson said Thursday. The accident happened near 226 Providence St. Investigators were at the scene all night and cleared it by about 9:30 Thursday, the police said. The accident is still under investigation. No further details were being released.
The head-on collision happened as a parent was driving in to make a drop off. The student riding in the car hit his head, but appears to be OK. No students were on the bus at the time. Both drivers are fine as well. ABC12 Main Station
